The education, Disciplines .. reminds me one thing.
When my Bro was doing his Engineering Dad suggested him to do Mechanical Engineering. Bro was also interested in that.. he did best there. But during his final year (1997) everyone thought IT is the best thing. Even though he was very good at computers did not join Infy or Wipro.. or did not go to US to fix Y2K bug..

There were 20+ Steel plants for which MoU was signed between My State govt+Govt of India and foreign investors.. He was expecting to be placed in one of those..

But sad ... those did not start in right time.. and after almost 15 years when they have again re-planned to .. the situation is changed..
There are many IT engineers.. even engineers from core streams (mechanical electrical and all that) score good marks in C++ but get OK like marks in the core subjects because they know they are going to work in software or will do their MBA.. they are now not interested in working in dusty environment near the blast furnace ..
Today companies are recruiting core engineers from other states.. Maoist and other groups who are against progress say you are not recruiting our local graduates.. provocating every one to carry out strike..

We need to understand and create balance between different type of education and discipline...
We need to think about it..

I dont know why I cannot forget anything.. and miss everything when those are not there..

Remember once when I was in Bangladesh, in front of the Parliament a small street girl of 7 - 8 years old presented me a beautiful rose. She was selling roses .. ten roses only 10 Taka. (Indian Rs. 8 equivalant on those days)

She came asked me "dada tumi ki hindustani?" (brother are you Indian?)

I said yes. Then she was so happy that she presented me a rose. I said I dont want to take.. she explained me that she always dreams of going to Kolkata. In her mind India is the most beautiful place to live. Said now as I called you my dada(brother), I want to give you this. Dont say No.

I had kept that rose along with my all other mementos received from different Bangladeshi dignitaries.

Last time when I had visited home found mom had cleaned the cupboard. and the dried rose was missing. Felt very sad...

Few days back ( i think 4-5 days from now) when I searched you in my friend's list did not find you. Understood that you have deactivated your account.

It was i think 1994 i had been to a music store to select few songs to give for recording in to a cassette.
There I found one other fellow browsing through all the list of romantic songs to put in his marriage video. His marriage had happened on a full moon day and wanted to select some special song which has moon a and all that. But was not finding one ..

Some how I suggested this song and he really liked this song.

That inspired me so much that I also decided in my marriage video I will also put this song.. hahaha..

1. To be very busy that i dont have time for any one else. Just me , me and me..
2. I wish to spend all my free just in studying micro controllers, Operating System, Algebra which I have forgotten, algorithms, experimenting on many new things, related to sensors and Aircraft.
3. The other thing I want to do is shooting. shoot shoot and shoot.
4. While doing other things I want to listen to some instrumentals.
5. Weekly once / twice I want to prepare some good food for myself.
6. I want to go for a long drive once in a week for 4 hours.

I think I studied the basics of Atmega ( or any Micro controller ) from going through this page and reading the codes here.

At the end of academic year ECE476 Cornell University students produced about 40 new projects mostly based on Atmega32. As every year students have their responsibility to choose their own final project. The best I liked is the prototype board for Atmega32 ( 40 Pin megas)

It so happened that I had been to a DVD store. Two young guys were talking among other about a movie.. named The World's Fastest Indian They first decided to take that DVD and there were no 2nd copy of that. So I asked them if I could see that DVD. I saw that and found interesting. Quickly checked its review in my mob and found that it is based on a true story.

By that time those guys found Forest Gumps and did not take this one..

Lucky me .. I got it and it is really very very heart touching and inspiring.

I dont know why I always land up in trouble.

Yes.. many times I promise to do some thing and as usual I forget..
But this time I am not going to forget.. After all Nokia has taught me Agile process you know..

The best thing which happened to me being in this software profession is i can learn many things And.. And.. yes And..
I can use that for myself..

I think I should spend min 5 days in a month to do some thing other than my day today work.

So here comes my list of pending tasks.. which uses agile process and technology..

1. A simple Home automation system to help me save some electricity ( and its different)
2. Renovate my lab and setup a fully FOSS based AVR lab
3. Complete the half done digital power supply
4. Trouble shoot the software Oscilloscope
5. Purchase a Acer Laptop and give that to mom. Will try to give her a feel of Linux this time. Hope that works else same old Windows..
6. Purchase some new plants for my indoor garden.
7. I think I should spend some time to sort out my old employment documents and other important documents and other documents

So first sprint (month of July, duty days 5)
I am going to pick

Ya I think this post requires this name only.

I was thinking I will never tell this to any one. But then thought if I dont tell it will be always there in my mind and will make me mad. But then how to tell ? and whom to tell?

Best option is to blog it. That is the best way to express what I want to tell. And I know hardly any one reads my blog. so no issues.

But you people must be thinking what I am going to write. If i can not tell that then how can I write that?

To make it simple let me ask myself a question. Should I believe myself? Sounds very odd know?
Yes that is what my question for today whose answer I am searching but not getting at all.
Now dont tell me I have a junk question. It is a valid question.

You know when you are kid, you grow up with your family, your parents. They are your every thing. Starting from taking care of you, thinking about you, to every thing they do for you.

Then when you grow up little, you realize that you have brother and sisters. You care for them. You love them the most. They are your best friends. You share every thing with them.

Then you go to school. There also you make friends. During school hours, you forget every one but your friends. You play with them, you share your tiffin / lunch with them.

You join college. You again make friends there. In front of them you keep your heart open. you fight for them. They help you in every need.

Today is my birth day. How many people wished me?

Now answer me.

Where are my parents?
Where are my brothers/ sisters?
Where are my school friends?
Where are my college friends whom I loved so much?
Where are my other friends?

If I remember, I always loved them cared for them the most why they are not there with me today?

So if they are not there with me then how can I believe that I really loved them from my heart?

If I remember I always wanted a small family with people around me, going to park together, joining for picnic. Parents, bro, sis, friends

I remember, I call up whom I love, I wish them.... May be that is just one line. But I think about them not just for mins but for hours. I go back to those old memories. Every single incident with them comes live.

No one wished me today.

Then How can I believe myself that I really love them, cared for them

You know God.. you dont have a phone no. I really feel like I should call you up and ask you, where I was wrong?

God you know what I am talking about. We both know I am not wrong. But if every thing is programmed by you then you have to tell me how correct is your program.
And remember God, I don't quit.
You do what ever you what to do. But you have to prove that you are right.

Its long time I have spent my time with family.. I mean with any family..
Get up in the morning ... go to office.. come back.. shoot and then study or watch some program in NatGeo .. was feeling like same routine.. every thing same..

Thought to give me a break..

Remembered my young school days.. so many promises... so many friends.. today I find my self all alone in the middle of no where.. where every one is there .. but I dont find any one.. looks like every one is busy .. running after some thing .. I have no idea what is that.. but it is true they have no time for me..

Then thought of some one .. a friend .. who had promised what we will meet again.. because "Dunia Gol hai .. Jahan se nikloge ghum fir ke wahin aake pahuncoge.. " .. ya she was quite true.. out of so many friends.. I think she only continued a true friendship with me..

Last time I had visited her she was @ Vizag .. her hus was a Lt in Indian navy posted in INS Rana..
This time she is @ Bhavnagar.. Her Hus is now posted there.. a Lt Cdr . in Indian Navy .. looking after the engineering aspects of ship bulding for a new ship..

Now she has a young little 2 year old admiral .. Vikramaditya.. going to meet him for the first time.. Admiral sir's demands are .. he likes Cars.. and want one for his collection .. a Gun.. he does not have one .. so desperately wants one..

Okay done dear.. your wishes are going to be fulfilled on 30th ..

Then thought let me take some thing which he will enjoy and both learn out of it.. some rhymes CDs..and alphabet learning CDs. Lets see how much he learns..

It was my great pleasure to be a part of MotoDev Summit at Leela Palace Bangalore on 14th may 2008. After so many years of association with Motorola Inc. it was my first opportunity to be a part of such a big event..

Mobile phones are no longer used as a device for talking.. but with multiple capabilities starting from playing music, scheduling your appointments to e-commerce over mobile (m-commerce) , mobile banking to many hundreds of applications..

To provide all the application by the mobile manufacturing company is very difficult. So Motorola has always encouraged the 3rd party developers to develop software for phones..
This MOTODEV Summit was one more opportunity for the 3rd party developers to learn various aspects of software developments for Motorola Mobile phones.

The event started with grand opening and keynote by Christy Wyatt the Vice President of Software Platforms & Ecosystem.. as usual her confidence and personality always has motivated we Motorolans..

With various sessions by various experts from different group of solutions were conducted..

I was vary glad that MotoMagix and my work WebUI framework was mainly highlighted during this summit and a technology lab session was also conducted for introducing the 3rd party developers with the new tools and technology Motorola offers for them.

I was also accompanied by a friend of mine Akshay who is a gr8 fan of Motorola Phones.

Entrance Exam

Today I was talking to one of my close friend.. Her elder sister's PG in Medical entrance exams results were supposed to come.. but sad.. the governing body have changed the rules.. and so there is a stay..
They are thinking to take MBBS results in to consideration for PG seats..

I remember my student days.. Once we had a subject called "Electronic Components & devices". I had some idea over it..and being over confident I did not study that paper and got avg marks.. I was expecting very good scores out of it.. After the results came I felt bad about it.. and in the holidays I studied that paper again. And without any prep I was able to explain the subjects to my juniors..

If I was supposed to evaluate my standard.. how much I rate from 0 to 5 can I rate my self 3 based on my last exams result or I should rate 5 for my understanding on the subject?

If I feel I should rate 5 then why in the above PG entrance exam, they should consider MBBS marks even after taking the test? Are not they confident on their entrance exam questions?

I am bit concerned

I am bit concerned.. Yes I am ..
Oct 11 to 22 GVM will be there.. So I have started Practice..
My self motivation is up.. Every day trying my level best to practice.. but..
I think after a day full of hard work and more than that almost 3 hours of bike riding during the day.. at the end of the day I am becoming bit tired. So not able to concentrate more..

If I check my logs.. over SCATT.. looks like my position and my aiming is perfect.. just the last .1 secs spoils my score.. my point of aim is on the 10.9 but just in last .1 secs it moves out of 10.9..

Looks like I have to concentrate more on my breathing, Trigger operation, and right hand grip.. I think this will give me the solution which I am looking at..

Also if I manage to be at home at 19:30 Hrs and eat some thing I dont feel comfortable to shoot at 20:30 Hrs.. if I dont eat.. I feel energy less, tired and hungry..

Not sure.. what to do.. I think if there is some one to talk to me .. keep me focused on my shooting it will be gr8..

I think from today instead of normal water, I will keep Glucose water next to me.. hope that helps..

Yup.. Kho na jaaye kahin.. Life is like this.. there are many things take birth in this world to give their valuable contribution... but some where they are lost.. this busy life, this self centered life.. forgets to think about others..
Actually the director, the story writer and screen play have played a very beautiful role in the success of this film. Most of the kids in todays world are more or less like Ishan.. I am not talking about the problem Ishan had.. but the other angle of the little boy.. why just a little boy.. but I must say it is with every human being.. we need love, care, affection... in a different different way.
And no one has time to understand others.. or we dont have the time to find the right angle to look at the object..

I think the film has tried to expose a big picture of current life style.. which needs to be guided and then only this human can live in this world as the most intelligent animal.. with Pride..

Again one more Flop reality show

Trying to digest the MTV Roadies 5.0..
If you look at all the TV channels in India.. all are flooded with different different reality show.
MTV Roadies is one among them..

Just trying to see if that show has any thing other than people scolding each other with F*** words or similar to that..

So called heros of the show Raghu and his team could not select people who could complete a task assigned to them.. Roadies always have failed in all the immunity tasks.. there is no strategy .. I think people who apply for SSB in India could have done much more better than these junks..

N e way I dont blame the roadies .. because they are not the same at their normal life. It is the Roadies environment/ tradition which forces them to speak F words .. fight among each other.. But there could have been a better environment which gives the producer the MASALA they want to catch viewer.. and would have raised the height of the reality shows..

I am just thinking about those kids.. ya they are..
They have their entire life to do what ever they wanna do .. why they go there and spoil their career? On the audition day .. the audition is too shit.. if you by luck got selected.. ..more shit..

You should have a GF /FB .. that is the main topic in audition.. (man as if without a GF / BF human does not called human) hahaha..

Game means take people who are good.. and let them play and find a way to win.. but here.. at the age of 18 - 21.. they are broke off with 3- 4 people.. says that they are really kids..

I think those producers and all those people of MTV Roadies should go and see one SSB interview.. and then prepare for Roadies 6.0..

I dont know why many people are just mad behind this show..

I just see this as a critic.. just to see up to what extent our TV program can go down..

Planning Vs Quick Fix

My friend, a very good rifle shooter, who is studding in US, his old Air rifle was not performing good. Asked my suggestion on which rifle to purchase.. I suggested him to Purchase FWB 700..

I was expecting he will purchase in next 2 - 3 days..

But..

He raised fund to purchase the rifle.. by working @ library for 2 hours every day, and 1 hour in the hostel for 6 month. saved 50 % of the amount . 25 % collect from his father and rest 25% on loan from the rifle company to return with interest in 1 year. In the following year, he participated in 3 matches and from prize money he paid back the loan.

Wow.. what a gr8 plan..

Think about India.. Indian govt.. (I dont know how much ) exempted the loan of poor farmers..

Mr Kapil Sibbal said in one TV interview " It is not required to have provision to get the money back in this budget. We will be returning the money back to the Banks in next 3 years.. so in the following budgets we will try to manage the money.. "

Wow .. what a gr8 idea sir ji..

Who knows you will be again be in power or not.. if the next govt. imposes some tax to get this money back .. then blame game will start..

Now you will give loan exemption. But the fact is

My dad was telling at Orissa currently Tomato is just Rs1.00/Kg, ( I pay avg. Rs.15 ) at Bangalore.

Cabbage is Rs 2.00 @ orissa, Bangalore it is Rs.10.00..

Can not govt regulate this and bring some balance.. every where.. farmers are just crying because no one is there to purchase their stuffs.. and you give them loan exemption.

Is that going to solve the problem for coming year?

Where is planning.. we are just trying to fix todays problem by just doing some thing which does not help in balancing the situation.

There must be at list 1 person who was capable to return the money.. but he also became a cheat.. did not return the money to bank..

What are we trying to do ?

God help India..

No one knows why farmers are not getting return from farming.. govt has no plans to deeply think about this issue and fix this.. If this issue is not resolved, from where we will get food to eat?

When I was new to Blog.. I visited many blogs to understand it.. and tried to find out what most people blog..

Most of the blogs explain views which author has not expressed to others and blogged it or found that this is a good way to let people know about what they think..

I think as the progress is very slow, we are not realizing that we are becoming more and more lonely.. New year wishes.. we send e-cards.. Rakhi e-cards, letters.. emails.. Just tell me.. can you hug that e-card when you miss your bro/sis/friend/relative?

Just imagine.. we are back in 60s 70s 80s .. Father comes from office.. we sit together with some snacks and chatting with our family.. its raining we have some pakoda in our hand and enjoying the rain...

Is the above way of sharing of view was good or blogs is best?

Progress is must .. but .... it is up to you to choose where and how much you need progress..

A very sad and shameful day today for the sports lovers and followers of India.. I remember a dialog in Chak De India " angrejon ko angreji sikhadi " .. sorry Chak de girls .. our boys failed in front of English people..

I know how Politics is affecting the sports in India.. I can just call them bloody how can you do this.. to your country? our boys trying so hard.. but these people are not providing proper coach, facility, they have to beg for money..

If you can not help them in any other way then at list give them the minimum support to gain fame for them selves...

I saw the match .. I found that our boys were trying their best to gain control over GB.. but at the same time felt that there were no help from the bench, from the technical side to help them over come Great Britain .. they were just playing a normal game.. I don't think they ever studied the weak points of GB team, player by player.. position by position..

How can a planed strategy fail so badly.. was that ever made? God knows..

Notes 4 Fedora 8 Linux Install on my Laptop

Hi,
This is how i have done my Linux Installation on my laptop
1. Install windows xp and create only one partition for C drive. Keep that big enough.
2. Now to install Linux, put the rescue CD and select install/ update Linux from Menu. Once it comes to a screen prompting to put the required CD / DVD, put the install DVD and continue installing Linux. While installing make the following partition
/hda1 c:
/hda2 /boot
/hda3 (204) mb for DVD player
/hda4 (Extended partition)
/hda5 LVM
/hda6 vfat d:
/hda7 vfat e:
LVM details
/ root
swap

3. After Installation in fedora the Add remove program will not work. It will now recognize the DVD rom as install media. So in command prompt do the following
pirut --repo=InstallMedia

Follow the same procedure for both versions of Fedora.

Firewall

Bring down the "System" menu and choose "Administration"->"Security Level Configuration". Enter the root password when prompted. In the "Firewall Options" tab bring down the "Other Ports" field and press "Add". Add port 177/tcp and 177/udp. Now press "OK" and confirm that you want to update the firewall settings.

Display Manager

Bring down the "System" menu and choose "Administration"->"Login Screen". Enter the root password, then select the "Remote" tab of the Login Screen window (it's the program gdmsetup). Select Style to be "Same as local" then close the window.

Now it's necessary to re-start GDM. Logout of your current session, then press Ctrl-Alt-F1 to get a console. Login as root and execute the following command:

[root@localhost ~]# init 3 && init 5

You should now be able to point an X session at your server.

I use Microsoft One note and really love it. But as most of the time I am under linux .. using this is a difficult task. So thought let me search some thing like that under linux.

Fedora 7: "Add/Remove Software" from DVD

This is my method of solving the add remove program problem in Fedora Core and Fedora 7.

After first installation

create a softlink to the Fedora cdrom 's root directory inside /media directory so that /media/fedora should show the content of /media/Fedora 7 DVD drive .
Now insert the DVD and mount that ( by default it will be mounted)
Edit /etc/yum.conf and put the following line there


reposdir=/dev/null[MyLocalRepo]
name=local
baseurl=file:///media/fedora
gpgkey=file:///media/fedora/RPM-PGP-KEY-fedora ( and may include other files too)

There is a bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzill...g.cgi?id=241604 So need some modification in a .py file. So add the following two lines in to /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/yum/packages.py at line 485

Remember not to change any indentation of the .py file. Python uses indentation for the loops

Now when you restart the Add Remove program it will ask to import the PGP keys.

Thats it.. It is done. Now any time it is required to install some software from the DVD .. just put the DVD and start Add Remove Program.

(Note you must run the first yum command as root even if it is just 'yum list available', since yum needs to create a directory in /var/cach/yum for the local repo)
